It was a good place to sleep. Very quiet at night. The bathroom was very clean, so was the room. There was nice city garden closeby and lots of shops and restaurants. The hotel is very close to the Pantheon and Boulevard Saint Germain.
The elevator was extremely tiny.
Nothing at all.
The front desk person was simply aweful. They lack in all manners, are rude and disrespectful towards guests. The room was atrocious. We were treated so poorly adn disrespectfully that we left for another hotel. Stay away from this hotel.
The gentleman who worked at the front desk during the day (both days that we stayed at Hotel Sully) was really helpful and thoughtful. All the staff were polite.
Very small rooms. The first room, you could barely turn around in the bathroom. Beds were not very comfortable. But still, the hotel is in a great location - makes up for these things.
Location is good
For half the price, it would be a fair deal, or maybe 20 years ago when the hotel was new. But now it's a cash-mashine for the owners, and a bad deal for the visitor.
The best thing about this hotel was its location just blocks from Notre Dame and one block from St. Germaine and the Sorbonne and a few blocks from the Luxenbourg Gardens. Very close to all transportation.
The hotel can use a makeover in the worst way. The maids cleaned your room every day but apparently not too thoroughly. While the rugs were vacuumed every day, nothing could remove the ingrained dirt from years of spills and what not. The dust on top of the wardrobe was gross as was the empty beer can. While we found a new pair of mens thongs still in a paper bag under the bed, we did not appreciate finding used ladies thongs on the top of the closet....yech.
We love Paris and especially the St. Germain area and this visit was to celebrate a special birthday for me. The hotel reception was very welcoming and gave us a room overlooking the inside patio garden at our request which was very pretty. In the reviews I read before we went people were complaining about the lift being too small, we found it adequate, a smell of tobacco in the room, we smelt nothing, noisy location, well maybe if you had a room on the front, we were lucky there and it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. The left luggage room was perfectly safe in our mind, and can only presume people always want to complain about something. If there was any comment it would be that we found Paris very expensive in general now but the Sully was a splendid hotel and we would stay there again.
It would have been nice for the bar to be operational for a drink before going out but with so many bars on the doorstep it wasn't a problem.
Excelent location, very close to Notre Dame, metro stations, Boulevard Saint Germain, Boulevard Saint Michel, everything. Clean, small rooms but comfortable enough for short stays.
The hotel needs some urgent repairs. Elevator not working, air conditioning not working.
The Location was perfect, it's a stone's throw from all the hustle & bustle of the latin quater, but in a quiet spot. Great restaurants, cafe's and corner shops all close by. Only a short walk to the river, and can easily walk to the Notre Dame and The Louvre. Would stay here again.
Nice small quite and clean hotel
Reasonably central location, old building but modernised tastefully. Room sizes were adequate and perfectly acceptable given the price. Garage facilities and ability to leave car and baggage until 4pm after checking out.
Excellent location close to many many restaurants/bars/entertainment in Latin Quarter, close to Metro, Seine River, Luxembourg Gardens, Notre Dame, Pantheon, American Breakfast Bar. Room faced inside court-very quiet, safe neighbourhood
Shower stall very very tiny, but manageable for the price.
Perfect location, clean, reasonable size room by Paris standards, good bathroom, aircondition was absolutely essential that week, and worked well though a bit noisy.
The staff were always available and very polite. The hotel was very clean with lovely decor and areas to relax with air-conditioning as it was a very hot day.
The room was very clean and larger than I expected for Paris, plus the bathroom was huge. Lovely double windows which opened up over the gorgeous little courtyard which still got a breeze. The staff were very helpful and forgiving that we knew so little French. We found the breakfast to be quite good and we were also able to make small ham and cheese rolls for a day of sightseeing. :) The free wifi and safe in our room was good as well. Good location a short walk from a few metro stations, the Pantheon, Notre Dame, loads of fantastic cafes and restaurants. Yes the elevator was tiny (mum and I went up separately with our suitcases), but it was very nice to have.
The bath, whilst massive, only had a hand held shower head, which made washing hair difficult. There was no curtain so the inevitable misdirected stream of water went everywhere. It was a non smoking floor (not sure if it was a non smoking hotel), but we had numerous times where we were engulfed with smoke in the hall and having the window open (but I guess thats Paris?).
The hotel was newly painted & refurbished Quite location Right in the middle of tourist precinct 2 Minute walk to metro line 3 minute walk to Notra Dam 3 minute walk to Hop on hop off bus line 3 minute walk to Quality restraurants Great location for the older tourist who does not walk for miles each day
